I am a "tech person" but, it is really nice to literally open up the box of goodies, power everything up and be on the air within minutes. The Training course is designed well with short-ish snippets to get you going and deeper into what your equipment can do.
I've been using this mostly for Fire Department and SAR work - its been a great asset for inter-agency comms. A+
