Worth every penny!
I am a "tech person" but, it is really nice to literally open up the box of goodies, power everything up and be on the air within minutes. The Training course is designed well with short-ish snippets to get you going and deeper into what your equipment can do.
I'm relatively new to DMR. I had a TYT MD-380 that I used to learn the basics. I picked up the AT-D868UV from Bridgecom for a great price at the Huntsville Hamfest. Using the videos and programming guide on the support page, I was able to quickly build a codeplug from scratch that includes all of my local area analog repeaters, two nearby DMR repeaters, and my MMDVM hotspot. The radio works great and has a ton of memory for contacts, channels and zones. I would recommend this radio to any ham interested in DMR, and cannot say enough good things about the responsiveness and support from Bridgecom.
This is my first DMR radio. I had help from other hams in my area and was on the air with AT-D868UV in a few hours. First impression - this is a quality product. Even figured out how to do a firmware update! The code plug software is awesome.
I purchased this online and have enjoyed using it for nearly a week. It easily does all I want in a dual-band FM and DMR radio. The display is excellent. Chuck, K0XM is very knowledgeable and provided excellent support to my questions. The firmware and Icon files are easily updated. This one is a near winner. I wish it had bluetooth audio. Many local hams use this radio and we enjoy learning and sharing our experiences together. I also own Motorola radios, and by far the Anytone AT-D868UV is the easiest to use.
