AnyTone AT-D578UVIIIPRO Tri-Band Amateur DMR Mobile Radio

$ 399.99

Imagine yourself sitting in your Ham Shack, the sturdy handcrafted shack you put your blood, sweat, and tears into creating. On your table lays a regular old dinky handheld. You kick it on to make a QSO and… nothing. There’s nobody there to hear from you. It’s like talking to an empty stadium. And it’s all because you don’t have enough power.

Instead, imagine on your table lies the AnyTone 578UVIII PRO—built with the same level of ingenuity and craftsmanship as you poured into your Ham Shack. You firmly press the flush buttons of the hand mic and transmit. With immense ease and a giant smile on your face, you finally make your first DMR QSO.

How does that sound?

        This radio is a great companion to my D878UV. Matching up the code plugs has been straight forward via .csv files. I am not set up for 220 MHz so no feedback there but performance on 2 meters and 70 cm is good. I’ve used the radio in my shack so far so no experience with the GPS or Bluetooth.

        So far, it's all great

        After some time getting to know this radio, This seems like a great package. Tri-band, DMR, smaller size that fits in smaller mobile situations. If this continues to work like I hope, I now plan to purchase and install one of these into each of our families vehicles along with having one at home. This way the code plugs can all be coordinated with one CPS file. Only thing I am not sure I can do is analog interface for VHF & UHF digital modes for EmCom data support. Maybe the Mic jack can be connected to my TNC?

        I really like the radio. Your university is very helpful. Your delivered on time. I had and issue with the radio firmware and was not impressed with your support. I'll leave it at that. I reinstalled the firmware from your web and it started working perfectly. I really like your company and would reccomend the D578 mobile or any of your other products if asked. Thanks.

        First Observations

        Like the radio, has a lot of neat features, seems well built, the only issue I see is that the frequency selector knob seems a little flimsy and has some movement on the shaft when changing frequencies.
