Transcript - Hi everyone, this is Cody

from Bridgecom Systems. I just recently got my callsign, which is KEØWWS, and I'm here to do my first ever ham radio contact.

So, I've got a pretty simple set up here. I've got my AnyTone 878PLUS, and then I got a DVMega hotspot paired with that, like a plug and play package, and then I actually just went in and set it up with one of our videos, super simple process, programmed it into my phone's hotspot.

So I'm all here, all I have is just this plugged into the power and now I've got this, so I'm gonna test it out in the parrot first. Make sure everything's working.

(beep)

KEØWWS. Testing. KEØWWS. Testing.

And there we go, we can see it working. Okay, so now I've got the radio set up on the worldwide talkgroup, so I'm going to see if I can make my first ever ham radio contact.

(beep)

KEØWWS, anybody copy?

- [Keith] KEØWWS, this is (inaudible).

This is Keith, I'm in southern Ohio and I copy you just fine. Everything sounds good, no packet loss, no dead air, audio's good, everything's great!

(beep)

- Awesome, sounds good Keith. Yeah, this is my first ever ham radio contact. Just checking it out.

- [Keith] Well, there's a whole lot of that checking the radios out goes on in the ham radio community, (laughs) so keep it up, you'll meet a lot of people that way.

This is (inaudible) listening.

(Beep)

- Cool, well, nice to meet you Keith.

This is KEØWWS, I'm Cody, out in Missouri, just North of Kansas City, Smithville, Missouri.

- [Keith] Well, I was in Missouri once and I didn't remember seeing... (inaudible).

(Beep)

- Okay, well nice talking to you, Keith. Hope you enjoy your day. This is KEØWWS, clear.

- [Keith] 73 to you too Cody.

I hope you have a great one and many more contacts in amateur radio.

(inaudible).

- Awesome, so there you have it folks, my very first amateur radio contact. I'm excited to have a lot more like this and you can too.

This is Cody from Bridgecom Systems, 73.
