AnyTone 868 VS AnyTone 878, Difference in Receiver and Transmitter

Lloyd Mitchell asks, "Is the receiver and transmitter in the AnyTone 868 the same as the one in the 878?" I'm going to assume the answer is no. Both radios have different FCC grants, which implies that they have different internal hardware, or else if they had the same transmitter, they could run on the same grant because there's no technological difference in the eyes of the FCC.
