Worth every penny!
I am a "tech person" but, it is really nice to literally open up the box of goodies, power everything up and be on the air within minutes. The Training course is designed well with short-ish snippets to get you going and deeper into what your equipment can do.
“Last fall I got diagnosed with bulbar onset ALS. So I am trying to do as much with my kids as I can. The old micor repeater we had was damaged by lightening that came in on the AC mains through the power supply. So that's why we got the BridgeCom repeater."
Took the repeater out of the box and was surprised at the quality of the construction. Took no time to put it on the air. The reception and transmitter are great. Better than we expected. A great piece of equipment.
The repeater I purchased is working flawlessly. It's currently set up for GMRS. But could be changed to the 70cm Ham Band if needed. Fantastic product!
I involved with large repeater system in Southern California. We have a number of old Harris and Kenwood repeaters. We were looking for new repeaters to replace our old worn-out equipment. After looking at the various choices we decided to try the Bridgecom repeater on 440 Mhz. It has turned out to be an excellent choice. The repeater was shipped the same day the order was placed. The unit was tested on arrival and work perfectly. The repeater truly plug-and-play. A week later I asked Bridgecom to make up a special cable for one of our NHRC-10 controllers. The company shipped the cable three days later. The support from the folks at Bridgecom is outstanding. I called a couple of times with questions and you could really tell that they cared about customer service and wanted everything to be perfect. I'm sure in the future we will buy more Bridgecom repeaters to replace our older equipment.
We have several makes and models of repeaters out in the field. BCR 50-v by far the easiest to get up and running. We most likely will buy more after we let this one run for a bit.
Greetings to all.. the biggest barrier for many ham's I have spoken to has been the lack of room to mount their mobile radios in newer vehicles. Newer vehicles lack the room to mount your wonderful radios, yet you refuse to develop a removable head option when a perfect example to copy exist. The Motorola CDM-1550 series has a great method to extend the control head with a minimum of fuss.. even a ham can do it. Please give this some consideration... MANY ham's will thank you.
I'm a HAM radio operator and also own a communications retail store in PR and provide communication services to different agencies, both government and private, in the island. We buy a lot of repeaters and have various mountain top tower sites that provide essential repeater coverage. We used to buy all Kenwood repeaters and mayor brand duplexers...
