I am a "tech person" but, it is really nice to literally open up the box of goodies, power everything up and be on the air within minutes. The Training course is designed well with short-ish snippets to get you going and deeper into what your equipment can do.

Best deal on spare battery that I've seen; comes with belt clip, which another radio that I owned required a separate purchase in order to have the clip.
