How to do an icon update on the AnyTone

    Hi everyone.

This is Cody with BridgeCom Systems, and in this video I'm going to be showing you how to update the icons on your Anytone radio.

Now when you update the firmware with some of the firmware updates, they also give you an icon update.

Now what this is going to do is update the the icons on it.

Now if you don't do this, it may look pretty weird, you'll have different icons that don't display properly.

So if there is an icon update, you definitely want to go ahead and do it.

Is The AnyTone 878 PLUS a Good First Radio? By Ham Radio Crash Course

Without further ado, let's get into it.

The AnyTone AT-878UV PLUS. One of the questions was, would I pick this for a new technician? Possibly a first radio. Normally I would say no, I wouldn't recommend this for a new technician. I don't think DMR is the place for a brand new radio technician. Right? Our first radio. This is the fence rider. This is the...

Menu Guide to the AnyTone 878 PLUS by HamRadioConcepts

Hello everyone, welcome back. KJ4YZI HamRadioConcepts. And this is the AnyTone AT-D878UV PLUS.

All right, so let's look at the radio a little bit more and see just some of the functions that are in the menu. Is this thing in Chinglish, like all the other DMR radios you used, is it impossible to figure out what each thing means? Well, let's find out. So if I go into Menu, okay? Main menu, it's a little icons here, so you have talk group, SMS, Call Log, your Zone, Scan, Roaming, Settings, Record, I guess you can record QSO? GPS, Digital Monitor, Bluetooth. Okay? That seems pretty easy.

Initial thoughts on the AnyTone 878 PLUS by Bob, K6UDA.

This time on K6UDA radio. This one comes from BridgeCom. The AnyTone 878 with uh... It's a DMR radio with built-in GPS. I've got the radio configured with a belt clip on it, the battery on there. It is, with the belt clip on, it is a little bit more thick in the hand than the other radios that I've used. But hey, again, 3100 milliamp battery, this thing's going to last all day long, so I've got no --- about that. When I first did turn this thing on, it did go into a memory mode. I was able to put it in a VFO mode and enter in a frequency from the keypad, which was a pleasant surprise. I've turned the radio on and I have it set up here on DMR to my openSPOT, Parrot.
