Great addition to any ham shack!

It is true what Bridgecom says on their website. This is truly a plug n' play setup. I was making contacts within 15 minutes of unboxing the HT and hotspot, first one was to a station in Australia! The added advantage is that contacts can be made regardless of the sunspot activity and no large antennas are required. The build quality/feel and audio of the HT is first-class and battery life is outstanding.
Setup was super easy.
Support from Bridgecom is outstanding and there are videos that are very helpful in walking you through nearly any setup question you may have. I highly recommend the plug n' play package!

Good pick for Experian Ed Amature and new to amateur radio

Good selection for anyone not experienced with DMR. I am experienced with analog and bordered plug and play. Got going on 10 minutes after unboxing. Would not hesitate doing again.
The 878 VII plus hold lots of contacts (500k) plus all other data. Plug and play comed pre-populated.
GREAT CHOICE
There Vecios are excellent for all levels. The issue is how they index them. Sometimes hard to find. I was told this is being worked on!

Plug and play

So easy it feels like cheating

BridgeCom has done so much of the work that using this radio feels like cheating. No frustrating waiting to figure out your radio because it comes ready to use out if the box. The only thing I needed to do was add my local repeater.

Fun for a new ham!

It's rare that a company claim meets reality. Not so with Bridgecom. I did indeed make my first contact within 5 minutes! The AT-778UVii Plus is a complicated and feature packed radio, but Bridgecom does a great job with their "Bridgecom University" to provide the training wheels to get started. Coupled with their Bridgecom Plus hotspot, I'm having a great time making contacts with hams across the globe and just down the road! My 878 is complex enough that there still is a lot to learn but Bridgecom has made it easy to get started and have fun while you learn! Someone said that "Ham Radio isn't dying, it's evolving", and this plug and play combo is a great example of this. Theirs plenty of room in the hobby for innovation, making it fun for the beginner and long time ham alike! I highly recommend adding this combo to your ham shack!
